St. Louis Ultra Draft - Cancellation and Reschedule Plans

St. Louis Ultra Draft - Cancellation and Reschedule Plans

Posted 06-06-2025

Mother Nature has been particularly cruel this year, and we have just received word from the park that we need to cancel the event for this weekend.  In addition to the torrential downpour that has affected the fields for several days, there was also a lightning strike on one of the field poles, so… it’s a mess.  And there’s more coming.

Knowing many of you have not yet traveled into town yet, we’d rather cancel as early as possible to give you maximum flexibility, rather than cross our fingers and have to disappoint everyone early tomorrow morning.

More Details To Come - Please Be Patient

Our first and primary goal is to alert you as soon as possible to this cancellation, so we are going to keep this email short and sweet.  You have a lot of questions about your gear, how your registration credits work, weather policies, etc. and we promise to deliver a longer email with all those details ASAP.  For now, here are the highlights:

  • We are working on a re-schedule date with USSSA and the park
  • We are working on a Saturday gathering for anyone who traveled into town so we can at least make the most of a soggy situation
  • We will collect addresses to ship your gear via a survey in the coming days
  • Here is our weather policy

Question:  Can’t they just diamond dry tomorrow?

We lean on our park experts to tell us what is and isn’t possible, and we have already explored (and are prepared to) paying for diamond dry - even at a high cost.  The park simply does not believe they’re going to be capable of creating a safe, enjoyable experience - especially if the Saturday forecast of more storms comes through as currently projected.

Question:  What about Sunday?

There is more strong rain in the forecast on Saturday.  If no rain happens, we would look at Sunday, but the percentage chance of that happening is low.  We are continuing to monitor and if Saturday gets lucky, we will look at options for play but do not feel strongly that it will happen at this time.

Question:  What about Another Park?

All other local parks have also cancelled their events for this weekend.  The entire region has been unfortunately drenched.

We will disseminate new information through to coaches and to your team chats - stay tuned.

Thank you all for your understanding as we navigate the logistics of this process and wish Mother Nature had a better plan in store for us this weekend.
